Explosion-protected cameras

Safety first

To maintain health and safety, explosion-protected cameras and their accessories are required for video surveillance in hazardous areas. The cameras feature stainless steel housings and offer HDTV resolution image quality.

What is a hazardous area?

A hazardous area is an area where flammable liquids, vapors, gases or combustible dusts will occasionally occur in quantities sufficient to cause a fire or explosion. Such areas can, for example, be found in oil refineries, gas pipelines and refueling stations, but also in hospital operating rooms, woodworking areas and places where grain is handled and stored, as well as chemical plants.

What is an explosion-protected camera?

Explosion-protected cameras are heavy-duty enclosures containing networked IP cameras. The explosion-protected camera housing prevents any inside sparks or explosions from escaping and igniting vapors, gases, dust or fibers in the surrounding air. The electro-polished 316L stainless steel housings are manufactured and certified for hazardous areas by Oxalis Group Ltd. by Eaton in the UK, and equipped with customized Axis network cameras.

Axis offers the following thermal network cameras
